William “Billâ David Cartwright, 72 of Green Cove Springs died quietly Saturday morning at his residence.  Mr. Cartwright was a native of Ocala, FL before moving to Green Cove Springs in 1942.  He was a graduate of FSU in 1959 and retired from GE after 25 years where he was a computer engineer and was also involved with the Apollo Space Missions.  After retiring from GE, Mr. Cartwright was employed by Rockwell International for 15 years.

 

He is survived by his wife Eloise Cartwright, 2 daughters Tina (Paul) Lisicki and Mitzi (Aaron) Gee, 2 brothers Donnie (JoAnn) Cartwright and Milford Cartwright, 1 sister Mildred Smith, 4 grandchildren Brittany, Allana, Malcolm and Ahnika.

 

In keeping with Mr. Cartwright’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral service, the family request that his friends and family “do random acts of kindnessâ.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
