Dorothy Louise Fowler Maynard, 71 has taken her place with our Lord in Heaven. She was born in Plant City, FL, the youngest child of the late Ellis Guy and Ruby Mae Roberts Fowler. She worked at Lykes Brothers before marrying John S. Maynard and moving to Milledgeville, GA and eventually relocating to Orange Park in 1976. She spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family and friends. The last year of her life was spent as a resident of Clair Bridge where her laughter was shared with those around her. Dorothy’s jovial spirit touched everyone’s heart and all who knew her were truly blessed.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend to all and leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 42 years John S. Maynard of Fleming Island, 3 daughters Katherine Juncal (Richard) Stuart of Green Cove Springs, Roxane Juncal (Howard) Strickland of Middleburg and Patricia A. Maynard of Orange Park, 1 granddaughter Angela Herron (Brian) Lindsey of Middleburg, 3 great grandchildren Justin, Kelly and Brianna Lindsey, 1 brother Charles “Buddyâ Fowler of Valrico, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary Louise Owens.
Graveside services were held 11:00 am Thursday (August 20, 2009) in the Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery with songs by Donna Gill and Rev. Alan Floyd officiating.
