Alvin Lee Howard, 59 of Middleburg, FL died March 8, 2012. He was a resident of Middleburg for the past 5 years having moved here from Chesapeake, VA where he lived for over 20 years. Mr. Howard served his country in the USAF for 12 years and retired from civil service in Virginia in 2006. He was a Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years, enjoyed camping, spending time with family and eating his son-in-laws good cooking.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Ellen Howard, one son, Michael Howard, one daughter, Jennifer “BJ” Smith, three grandchildren, Amber, Catlin and Austin, 2 aunts, Virginia Howard and Pauline Ostiman, sister-in-law, Bonnie (Gerald) Dalton and their children, brother-in-law, Sam (Teresa) Andrews and their children, best friends, the Bolin family, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012 in the South Middleburg Baptist Church with Rev. Delton Kilpatrick officiating. Visitation with the family will be from noon-1:00 prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery with Military Honors.
