Billy D. Boyd, 77 of Orange Park, Florida passed away on February 2, 2011 after a lengthy and courageous battle with heart disease.  Billy was born August 31, 1933 in Manor, Georgia to the late Harl and Mattie (Crews) Boyd.  Billy, a loving husband and father is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ruth (Ross) Boyd; his son, the late Mark Steven; his son Gregory Scott; his son Daniel Craig and his wife Deborah Lynn; and his daughter Lisa Fay and her husband jc35ghua Michael.  His grandchildren; Telisha, Micah, Amanda, Brittany, Dennis, Megan, Austin and Taylor.  His great grandchildren:  Weston, Brooklyn, Gavin, Zander, Syllia, Riah and more family and friends than can be counted. 

 

Billy retired in 1979 from Seaboard Coastline Railroad.  He was a man of great faith whose love and dedication to the Lord was an inspiration to many.  He was a member Mandarin Church of God of Prophecy.

 

Billy loved sports all his life and loved coaching and giving freely of his time and could always be found at a local junior or high school girls sporting events.  His impact on these young ladies is felt by each of them every day and their impact on him was profound. 

 

The family visitation was held on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5-7 at Russell Baptist Church located 2299 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  The Funeral was held at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the church followed by a graveside service at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Bro. Dale Kitchens, Bro. Steve Pittman and Bro. Larry Lowry officiated.
