Robert George Hapke, 90 of Green Cove Springs, died peacefully Tuesday October 12, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.  Mr. Hapke had been a resident of Florida since 1976 and had been living in Green Cove Springs since 2004.  Following his discharge from the US Army Air Corps as a flight instructor, Mr. Hapke worked for the Jewel Tea Co and Standard Coffee Company before returning to Illinois. Following his position of sales manager for the Shawano County FS Company in Wisconsin, Mr. Hapke returned to Florida to enjoy his retirement with his wife of 61 years, Edna.

 

Other survivors include his daughters Deborah (jc35geph) Bresette and Nancy (J.T.) Mills, 2 granddaughters Katherine (Gregg) Fernstrom and Laura Bresette (Alan) Eathorne, 2 great grandchildren Chloe and Owen Fernstrom.

 

Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 am Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the funeral home prior to traveling for Graveside services at 2:30 pm in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens of Edgewater, FL with military honors.
