Jesse "Buddy" Walter Terry, Jr. 72 passed away Aug 26, 2010 in a local hospital following a brief illness.  Mr. Terry retired after 30 years from the Jacksonville Sheriff Office, was a member of the FOP, and was a member of the Russell Baptist Church.  He served his country in the US Air Force.

 

He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years Jean Terry, 3 children Vicky Terry, Nathan Terry and Melissa Terry-Scheider. 7 grandkids: Danese, Amber, Kyle, Kayla, Hannah, Dylan and Mason. Great grandkids: Ciara and Jesse (due 10/25/10). sister Maureen Norman and a host of relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services were held 10:00 am Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in Russell Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs with burial  following in the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:00 pm with both JSO Honors and the USAF Honors.   Rev. Ron Baker officiated.

 

In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in his honor to the Police Death Benefit Fund through JSO or American Heart Association.
