Pauline Zander, 73 of Green Cove Springs, Fl died Friday evening following an extended illness.  Mrs. Zander had been a resident of Green Cove Springs since 1957 and had retired from Dollar General Stores where she was a cashier for 15 years.  She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her son John Zander and daughter Patty Thacker both of Green Cove Springs, 1 brother Robert (Jackie) Bowman of White Springs, Fl, 3 sisters Verna (Bobby) Wager, Jean (Bobby) Hicks and Betty (Jim) Donaldson and grandson Skylar Zander all of Green Cove Springs, nephew Steve Hinton of Waynesville, GA along with several other nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Frances Wilt and 3 brothers Link, Ralph and Abe Bowman.

 

Funeral Services were 10:00 am Wednesday June 10, 2009 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery and Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Madaris officiating.  Burial followed in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to either:  Community Hospice 5450 Ramona Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl  32205 or North Florida Hematology and Oncology Associates 2 Shircliff Way, Jacksonville, Fl  32204.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice, North Florida Hematology and Oncology, and St Vincent’s Medical Center for their excellent care.
