Verna Mae Evans, 84, of Green Cove Springs, FL died Monday at her residence. Mrs. Evans moved here from Holiday, FL where she and her husband resided for 20 years. She was a former resident of Buffalo, NY and a member of the Calusa Cruise Club of New Port Richey, FL.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Lyle) Hunt, one brother, Frank Ellis, one sister, Ginnie Homick, 4 grandchildren, John and Matthew Hunt, Kerry Evans and Kyle Green, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years David T. Evans and her son Kerry David Evans.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 Tuesday evening, November 29, 2011, in the chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-6:00 prior to services. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
