Anna M. Massie, 89 passed away, Friday October 28, 2011 at The Terrace Care Center of Fleming Island.  She was born, November 2, 1921 in Glenwood, WV to the late Brady F. Hughes and Sarah Bowman Hughes.  Mrs. Massie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kelly S. Massie in 1991.  Also preceding her in death were her two sons Michael Massie in 1959 and Tom Massie in 2007.

 

She was a member of the Green Cove Springs Church of Christ where she served the Lord for many years.  Mrs. Massie was a homemaker who loved to sew and made many handmade quilts.

 

Survivors include her son, David (Charlotte) Massie of Akron, OH, two daughters Diane Massie and Trish Massie both of Fleming Island, three grandchildren, Michelle (David) Tokar of Ohio, Jessica (Fred) Frederick of Portsmouoth, VA, and Brian (Angel) Massie of Chesapeake, VA, 4 great granddaughters, Amber Frederick, Katie Tokar, Ella Tokar and Amaya Skye Martin, one sisiter, Mary (Everett) Munyan of Glenwood, WV, one brother Vernard Hughes of Melrose, FL, several nieces and nephews and family.

 

Memorial services will be held in the Green Cove Springs Church of Christ with Elder Claude McEldowney officiating, time and date to be announced.
