Eloise W. “Teedleâ Norris, 80 of Fleming Island died February 9, 2011.  She was a native of Meridian MS and had been a resident of Fleming Island, FL for the past year and a half .  While living in Florida, Mrs. Norris was crowned Miss Senior Clay County.  The lifelong resident of Meridian was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she attended since childhood.  She retired from Rush Memorial Hospital after 10 years.  Prior to her career as a nurse she was a homemaker.

 

Survivors include; her children Malcolm Norris and Teresa (Chris) Lamb, 2 brothers Johnny and Leonard Withers and 2 sisters Lupe Covert and Glennie Ziller, 1 grandson Jackson Lamb.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Clara Withers and her siblings; Jake Withers, Daisy Cassady, Margaret Laney and Edna Frances Withers.

 

Graveside services were held 11:00 am Saturday (February 12, 2011) with Pastor Scott Yirka officiating.  Burial was in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation with the family was from 10-11:00 am just prior to graveside services.
