Lawrence C. O’Brien, 74 died Wednesday evening in a local nursing home. Mr. O’Brien was a security officer for 11 years at Moosehaven. Prior to moving to Orange Park in 1979, he was a resident of Horseheads, NY where he retired from the State of New York as a Corrections Officer. He also served in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife Joyce O’Brien, 2 sons Larry O’Brien and James O’Brien, 1daughter Patricia O’Brien Janda, 1 brother Mike O’Brien, 1 sister Barbara Lynch,11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held 11:00 am Saturday, October 31, 2009, in the Moosehaven Chapel, 1701 Park Ave., Orange Park, FL with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. Mr. O’Brien was laid to rest in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, November 10, 2009 with Military Honors.
