Leonard Kennedy, 62 of Middleburg died Wednesday October 21 in Lake City, Florida.  Mr. Kennedy has been a resident of Clay County since 1991 when he moved here from Kentucky.  He was a member of the VFW and Morocco Temple of the Shrine and also served in the USMC.  Mr. Kennedy was self-employed as a container hauler and worked for the Postal Service for 13 years.  He had a love of animals including his horses.

 

He is survived by his wife of 18 years Mary Kennedy, 3 children Leonard James Kennedy, Debbie Yakel and Stacy Thull, 1 brother George (Jannifer) Kennedy, 4 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons.  He was preceded in death by his parents Carter and Pearl Kennedy and a brother Archie Kennedy.

 

Memorial Services were held 1:00 pm Tuesday (October 27, 2009) in Jacksonville National Cemetery with USMC Military Honors.  Chaplin John Hugus officiated.
