Grief Share
GriefShare is a grief recovery ministry produced by Church Initiative and provided to the community at Russell Haven of Rest for any interested person. GriefShare is a special weekly video seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It's a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss. At GriefShare, you'll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life. GriefShare features some of the nation's foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. Seminar sessions include: "The Journey of Grief", "The Effects of Grief", "When Your Spouse Dies", "Your Family and Grief", "Why?", "Heaven", and "Stuck in Grief". This outreach is offered free of charge to all participants. The GriefShare program is built around three components: (1) Video seminar, (2) Support group discussion and (3) Personal study and reflection. Experience clearly demonstrates that commitment to all three key aspects yields the best growth and healing.
If you are grieving the loss of a friend or family member, you are facing many deep emotions. It may be difficult to untangle them all. Each circumstance is different and each person will approach grief from a unique and personal perspective. Grief recovery is simply feeling better. It is the ability to find joy in life again. It is to treasure the memory of loved ones, to miss them and to live better because of the time in your life that you spent with them. Grief is not an enemy or sign of weakness. It is a sign of being human. It is the cost of loving someone. It is inevitable that during such a loss we should be deeply impacted, shocked or wounded by it. Grief is the manner or process in which we work through this loss.
